After their engagement shoot in Richmond Park I knew I was going to have a great time at Tim and Ellie’s wedding in central London. I love when couples respond so well to the directions I give them and it was fun to switch so quickly between fun and serious shots with them!
The wedding was held in Hammersmith just down the road from my old stomping ground in Chiswick. I’d never been inside St Paul’s Church but I had seen the top of it many times from the Hammersmith flyover! It was so grand inside and very impressively lit. After the ceremony we headed into central London for some shots around St James’ Park, and then on to the Haymarket Hotel for the wedding reception. It was such a grand hotel and the perfect venue for such a lovely couple!
Emily and Chris love walking their huskies in farmland near where they live, so when they said they wanted to get their beautiful dogs involved in the shoot it was something I couldn’t say no to!
I’m very much a dog, rather than cat, person but nothing could prepare me for just how beautiful their huskies were, and so very strong as well! It was quite important for me to get to know them a little as Emily and Chris wanted to have some shots with them on the wedding day too. It was a little chilly, but the farm buildings made for some lovely backdrops, and Emily and Chris’ smiles certainly warmed the day up as well. Their wedding at the stunning Down Hall will be featured very soon!
Matt and Jo got in touch after seeing me in action at Jo & Warren’s destination wedding in Marrakech the previous year. That was such a fun wedding I knew that any friends of theirs would have an equally spectacular wedding! I didn’t have as far to travel this time though as the wedding was at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park.
I’ve always loved Richmond Park and Pembroke Lodge and have been lucky to shoot a few weddings there in the past. Apart from the great location in the park, the Lodge has such a bright beautiful conservatory for the wedding ceremony that it’s always a joy to shoot there. Venue staff often get bad reviews from wedding photographers, but at Pembroke Lodge the staff treat you so well it makes the day even more pleasurable. After getting ready at the Petersham Hotel we headed to the park for a wonderful ceremony and beautiful portraits in the park. I’m also pleased to say that Matt’s best man has booked me for his own wedding later in the year too!
