Wedding – Jo & Warren – Villa Fawakay, Marrakech

It’s always an honour to be flown out to a different country to shoot a wedding, and for me, Jo and Warren’s wedding was doubly exciting as it was to be my first trip to Marrakech – a city I’ve always wanted to visit.

Jo & Warren chose Villas Fawakay just outside Marrakech as their wedding venue and I was lucky enough to stay there a couple of days before the wedding getting to know the wedding party and lovely hosts, Dawn and Frances who own the Villas. If you are tied of the unpredictable British weather and are looking for a relaxed, chilled out venue for your wedding then I can only wholeheartedly suggest you consider Villas Fawakay.

Of course Jo looked beautiful, and as usual, a bride in Laboutins never fails to disappoint in the style stakes! Jo even commissioned Dawn to make a shoe sculpture (if you’re wondering what the metal man wearing Laboutins is!) to look after them while the dancing took place!

Shooting in a different environment is always fun, and luckily Jo and Warren were up for heading out into the dusty Morrocan desert for their wedding portrait shots. The sun went down at just the right time and hopefully I’ve managed to evoke a true Moroccan vibe in the photographs!

I’d love to shoot in Morocco again, so if you’re thinking about it, please get in touch to see if I’m available!

Langshott Manor Wedding – Ian & Lorraine

langshott manor wedding photography

Langshott Manor is an idyllic little hotel in the Surrey countryside that provides a typically English wedding in it’s picturesque setting.  Ian and Lorraine probably hoped for some beautiful British weather, but probably hand’t banked on it being one of the hottest and sunniest days of the year.

A horse and carriage arrived to transport Lorraine to the wedding, where all their friends and family awaited to see her arrive – only Ian had to wait for his bride to arrive at the ceremony! A bright and breezy ceremony followed by drinks on the lawn, and lots of time for some beautiful portraits.  The sun shone through, and as it started to go down there was some beautifully soft light to be had.

A glorious, relaxed wedding to be part of :)

BEST 10 – London Zoo Wedding

london zoo wedding photography

For my latest look back at some of my favourite London weddings, I’ve decided to showcase my favourite ten images from Sian and Dave’s wedding at London Zoo.  I’ve been lucky enough to shoot there twice in my career as a London Wedding Photographer, and there is something that really appeals to my inner child when shooting at one of London’s most interesting wedding venues.

Your guests are surely going to be thrilled when they realise they can spend some time wandering around the zoo, looking at the animals before the ceremony – and each wedding also includes an “animal experience” afterwards.  It’s certainly a unique wedding venue and perfect if there are lots of children to entertain.

For wedding photography, I love that London Zoo:

- has interesting colours and architechture

- offers a bright and easy to navigate ceremony room

- provides entertainment with the animal experience!

Brixton Engagement Shoot – Rosi & Tom

Brixton offers a nice mix for an engagement shoot, with urban street scenes and the classic London Park offering two distinct areas to shoot in.  It was lovely to receive Rosi’s email asking me to shoot her and Tom’s wedding, as she is Issy’s sister – one of my previous brides who was married in Scilly a couple of years ago.  Rosi and Tom were planning their wedding on Bryher as well and it was great to think I could visit that beautiful part of the UK again.

Brixton is a million times different from peaceful Bryher, and sometimes having an engagement shoot completely different in feel to your wedding makes for a nice contrast. I’ve already shot the wedding and it was just as lovely as the first time I was there!

Marine Hotel North Berwick Wedding – Heather & Alan

A wedding at the Marine Hotel in North Berwick has the most amazing setting, right on the beach – with views out to the Bass Rock, and the nearby beach ready and waiting for great wedding photography.

I was delighted Heather and Alan asked me to shoot their wedding as Heather is one of my sister’s best friends, and it gave me a great opportunity to get some lovely shots of her in a bridesmaids dress!  When I heard it was at North Berwick I couldn’t wait to shoot another Scottish Wedding and hoped the weather was kind enough to give then their dream of having an outdoor ceremony.

Despite a few drops of rain, they decided to go for an outside ceremony and portraits on the beach – so much laughter and smiles made for some wonderfully relaxed wedding photographs.

If you are planning a Scottish Wedding, please get in touch as I am always keen to head back up over the border to my homeland!
